Summer Deep Cleaning Checklist: A Room-by-Room Guide for Every Home
Share
Summer brings longer days, open windows, and more time spent at home with family. It also brings new cleaning challenges — pollen, humidity, increased foot traffic, and outdoor dirt tracked inside. A thorough deep cleaning at the start of summer sets the foundation for a fresh, comfortable home all season long.
Why Summer Cleaning Is Different
Spring cleaning gets all the attention, but summer has its own demands. Higher humidity promotes mold growth. More time outdoors means more dirt tracked inside. Kids home from school create more mess. Insects find their way in through open doors and windows. Your summer deep clean should address these specific challenges.

- Pest prevention: Seal gaps around doors and windows. Clean under sinks where crumbs attract insects. Check for ant trails and address entry points.
- Air quality: Replace HVAC filters. Clean air purifier filters. Dust all vents and registers.
- Odor management: Summer heat amplifies odors. Deep clean trash cans, litter boxes, and pet areas more frequently.
